January 28th – 31st  Munich held host to one of the largest gathering of global sports brands, professionals and suppliers. Alpha Performance (Alpha) was no exception and in attendance.  With over 2,500 exhibitors and close to 100,000 visitors, ISPO Munich is the ideal platform for creative thinkers, innovation and industry leaders.

Alpha’s attendance at ISPO was two fold. With an on going commitment to complete supply chain transparency, reduced environmental footprint and sustainability. ISPO facilitates this while allowing access to some of the industries top thinkers, brands and innovators, allowing us to harness this creative momentum to fuel our next generation of products.

“ISPO (Munich) is great! It’s an opportunity for us (Alpha) to meet potential partners face to face, explore our ideas and find like-minded professionals who are able to help us reach these lofty goals. At the same time allowing access to the cutting edge of innovation and technology in our industry.”

ISPO MUNICH ENTRANCE

In terms of long term plans ISPO mitigates the sourcing process. It (ISPO) facilitates communication with professionals who share ideals for innovative product design, while further allowing us to chase our objective of a completely sustainable product line. Through sourcing and use of recycled materials, and greener production methods.

Natural resources won’t last forever. And products must be safe for people to make and use. We don’t question these realities — we challenge ourselves to ask what we can do about them in every part of our business. As the year turned we wanted to ask ourselves, how can we be more than just another “brand”. There are issues related to the environment that are bigger than us, and how can we help reduce the impact we make. It boiled down to one key question.

Can we make products while reducing the use of natural finite resources?

Traditional supply chains are linear. Materials are mined, manufactured as products, and often end up in landfills after use. Then the process starts over and more materials are extracted from the earth for new products.

Our goal is a closed-loop supply chain.

We believe our goal should be a closed-loop supply chain, circularity, where products are made using only recycled material through sustainable process. We  have started the process to ensure that the finite materials we use in our products are sourced responsibly through strict standards and programs that drive positive change. We’re also challenging ourselves to one day end our reliance on finite resources altogether. As time goes no To start, we’re encouraging more customers to recycle their products with us. It’s an ambitious goal that will require many years of collaboration across multiple Alpha teams, our suppliers, and recyclers — but our work has already started and we plan to continue.
